KILBY ran amok against Vale to reach the second round of the Scottish Cup.

It had all started well enough for Chris Anderson’s team, who had won four in a row ahead of the K Park clash, with Steven Lynch arriving at the back post to head home an in-swinging corner after 10 minutes.

But the reaction from the home team, who are unbeaten so far this season, was phenomenal.

Just five minutes later the ever dangerous Joao Victoria side-stepped past Lynch to slot the ball into the far corner.

And moments later Fabio Capuano found enough room at the edge of the area to unleash a low, powerful shot beyond Andy McQueen.

Victoria won his team a penalty approaching the half hour after being tripped inside the area by Danny O’Donnel.

Veteran striker Robbie Winter despatched the spot kick to give his team a commanding 3-1 lead.

A defensive mix up on 38 minutes allowed Victoria the easiest of opportunities to make it 4-1.

And the striker completed his hat-trick before the interval after racing clear of the defence to slot a shot beyond McQueen.

Only the woodwork prevented 41-year-old Winter making it six on the stroke of half time with a back post header.

The pace of Kilby was a problem for Vale throughout the first half - and so it continued after the break.

Victoria darted into the area to unselfishly lay a pass off to Winter to make it 6-1.

And the goals kept coming.

Adam Strachan notched up a brace, sandwiched between a fine strike from Declan Hughes to give Kilby an easy passage into the second round.
