THE charity which runs leisure, sports and cultural services across the Borders is looking to fill a number of vacancies – including that of a new £100k-a-year chief executive officer.

Live Borders announced the appointment of Jim Hutchison as interim chief executive officer in January.

Finance expert Mr Hutchison took up the role when Ewan Jackson retired at the end of December, after 20 years in post.

Now the post of chief executive is being advertised with an annual salary of between £90,000 and £100,000 per annum.

The expectation is that the new CE will be a “visionary leader” who will “help craft a charitable trust organisation that is fit for the future”.

Meanwhile, a recruitment driver is ongoing to fill a number of other posts.

They include a duty manager at Eyemouth Leisure Centre, an exercise to music instructor at Kelso Swimming Pool, a customer experience assistant at the Heart of Hawick and a number of additional casual, part-time and full-time leisure assistant roles.

A Live Borders spokesperson said: “We are regularly recruiting for a number of posts across the region. You could start your future in one of our museums, libraries, pools, gyms or community venues. No two days are the same; you will become part of a valued team bringing ideas and energy.

“Whether you have experience and are seeking a new challenge, or you’re 16 and looking for that first job, we want to hear from you. We always provide full training and offer great long-term prospects.

“Live Borders offers a generous annual leave allowance, pension options and access to Healthy Extras from Westfield Health providing retail discounts and a large range of services to support health and well-being.”
