PERFORMERS in Selkirk show they have 'blonde ambition' as they bring Legally Blonde to the Victoria Halls stage.

With their first performance tonight (February 27), Selkirk Musical Theatre Company (SMTC)'s production is set to be a smash hit.

With Victoria Halls washed with a pink glow, the show will have audiences saying "oh my god you guys" in awe of the talent on stage, in the live band, and behind the scenes.

SMTC's production follows Elle Woods (Kirsty Cleland) as she journeys to Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner (Alex Matthews) - but to Elle's surprise, she discovers much more about herself along the way.

Elle travels from Malibu to Boston with her dog Bruiser (Lana and Darby) and struggles to make a good first impression with her classmates and professor.

But with the help of her Delta Nu sisters Serena, Margot, and Pilar - played by Rachel Inglis, Rose Roberts, and Lauren Boomer - as well as her new pal Paulette (Amanda Blacklock) and her dog Rufus (Lola and Iris) and potential beau Emmett (Richard Platt), Elle works to prove herself a serious law student.

And despite her fellow classmates - including Warner's new girlfriend Vivienne (Natalie Wright) and Enid (Ellie Bryson-Welsh) - putting her down, Elle proves them wrong by being chosen for a prestigious internship.

Elle and her fellow interns are hired to help represent celebrity fitness instructor Brooke Wyndham (Amy Welsh) who is accused of her husband's murder, she discovers that her teacher Professor Callahan, played by Craig Douglas, has an ulterior motive when hiring her.

With impressive vocals, amazing staging and lighting, and a surprise Irish Dance break, SMTC's Legally Blonde will have Borderers 'bend and snap' for tickets.

Following from tonight's first performance, Legally Blonde will continue from Wednesday, February 28 to Saturday, March 2.

All shows will start at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm), and an additional matinee performance is available at 2pm on Saturday, March 2.
