A CAR with “several distinctive features” has been stolen from a Borders village, according to police.

The grey VW Golf R estate – LG16 PKE – was taken  from Cadden Haugh in Clovenfords, near Galashiels, between 10pm on Monday (February 19) and 7.30am on Tuesday.

Officers have issued a public appeal for information.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “It has several distinctive features including an adjustable suspension, VW 19in Pretoria alloy wheels and a limited edition all black Thule bike rack attached.

“Anyone who saw anything suspicious or has seen the vehicle then please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0540 of Tuesday, February 20, 2024.”
