BORDERS College are offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to take part in the Turing Scheme.

The global programme offers periods of study or work abroad and provides a chance for students to undertake activities leading to personal and professional development.

Following the first round of interviews for the planned trip to Canada in 2024 some places are still available.

Second round applications are now open.

The Turing Scheme provides funding for outward mobility to destinations worldwide and encourages participation by Borders College students.

The trip will be for 16 nights in May 2024 and will involve a trip to Centennial College in Toronto to learn more about the Canadian culture, education system, meet new people and explore Toronto and the surrounding area.

Students must have an attendance record of 80% or above and be on track with their studies, as they will need to have completed most of their course work before the trip.

Students are expected to do a presentation on “What Global Citizenship means to me” as well as meeting the project team and answering a few questions.

Closing date for applications is January 12th 2024. Interviews will take place the week beginning January 22 2024.
