Doddie set up the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation in 2017 after announcing that he had been diagnosed with MND, to help raise awareness and funds to find a cure for this devastating disease. He sadly passed away November 2022 aged 52.

Tom also earned 61 caps for Scotland and toured with the 1997 & 2001 British & Irish Lions playing in all 6 tests.

He was regarded as one of the best looseheads in modern rugby. His final match in the blue jersey came, appropriately enough, against England in 2005.

He was diagnosed with stage four cancer in 2019, with tumours in his colon, brain and liver and died in April 2022 aged 50.
