RENOVATION work will start today, to create six new homes in Hawick.
The latest phase of the Scottish Borders Housing Association's Stonefield development, will see 12 flats in block 27 converted into three-bedroom family homes.
The £10m development which is a collaboration between SBHA, Waverley Housing and Scottish Borders Council, has so far seen 44 new homes built, and 53 refurbished.
Henry Coyle, director of assets and property services at SBHA said: "We are delighted to be beginning this latest phase of the Stonefield development.
"It has already made a big difference to Hawick, and we have received a good deal of positive feedback from our tenants in the new build and refurbished homes. We expect these homes to be in high demand."
The work will take 22 weeks to complete and all of the properties will be energy efficient and will include high-performance combi-boilers.
