POLICE in the Scottish Borders are appealing for information following a fire in Kelso.
The incident occured at around 3am on Saturday, September 24, when a fire was reported at a shed on Orchard Park.
The shed was destroyed as a result, and a section of fencing behind the shed was also damaged.
The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service has conducted inquiries and believes that this was a deliberate act.
Officers are now investigating and would urge anyone with information to come forward.
Inspector John Scott of Kelso Police Station said: “Wilful fireraising is a reckless act which risks the safety of all nearby residents.
“It also uses vital emergency service resources which could be helping others.
“Anyone who saw suspicious behaviour in the area at this time, or who has information which can assist, is urged to get in touch.”
